Actor, writer and director Reece Dinsdale is putting his head above the parapet to help save Square Chapel Arts Centre in Halifax, with a host of familiar faces from stage and screen backing his campaign.

Among those supporting the appeal who have signed Reece's open letter and are backing the campaign are Maxine Peake, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Michelle Keegan Sue Johnston, Ian Puleston-Davies, Natalie Gavin, Mark Addy, Les Dennis, Sally Dynevor, Jack P Shepherd, Jeff Hordley, and Mark Charnock alongside a wider group of actors, writers, broadcasters and creatives.

The timing is particularly significant for Julie Hesmondhalgh, who has recently appeared on The Celebrity Traitors and is set to receive the inaugural Great British Theatres Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her campaigning to save Oldham Coliseum and her advocacy for regional theatre and the arts.

In his open letter, Reece reflects on the life-changing power of the arts and calls for Square Chapel to be saved as a working arts centre for the people of Halifax and Calderdale. You can read the full letter by clicking the link below.
