A poem written by Actor, Writer and Director Reece Dinsdale in his quest to save Square Chapel Arts Centre in Halifax, West Yorkshire.
Ode To Square Chapel
What OF our lives, what OF our minds,
If we dont feed the soul that finds,
No sustenance in the workaday ,
But craves deliverance through word and play,
Through dance and music, the visual arts,
That provides the succour for our hearts,
To sing and soar and burst with joy,
Not tear us down, our souls destroy.
Neglect these needs, ignore these facts,
We'll lose in deepest Halifax,
A diamond in the Yorkshire crown,
That ne’er before had cause to frown.
Come fill our bowls, come fill our hearts,
And help us save Square Chapel Arts.
